(AmericanProsperity.com) – Over the weekend, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned governors of all 50 states that the Chinese have been infiltrating the US at various levels of government, education, and business. Democrats demanded that social media websites take down an edited video of Pelosi shredding President Trump’s State of the Union speech, and Trump’s budget proposal includes $4.8 trillion in cuts to safety nets and foreign aid while increasing defense spending.

Pompeo Warns of Chinese Infiltration

At the National Governors Association winter meeting, Pompeo warned governors that the Chinese have infiltrated the varying levels of America’s infrastructure. By doing so, Pompeo warned that doing business with China indirectly supports and funds communism.

“We can’t ignore China’s actions and strategic intentions. The Chinese government has been methodical in the way it’s analyzed our system… it’s assessed our vulnerabilities and it’s decided to exploit our freedoms, to gain an advantage over us at the federal level, the state level and the local level.”

Pompeo said that he wouldn’t be “surprised” if governors hadn’t been lobbied directly by the Chinese Communist Party. He also warned that the Chinese have been developing relationships with county school boards and local elected officials through Sister City Programs.

Pompeo also said the Chinese have been active in infiltrating education and business by actively recruiting US scientists and professors to help them access US secrets.

Democrats Demand Social Media Take Down Video of Pelosi Ripping Trump’s Speech

At the conclusion of last Tuesday’s State of the Union speech, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-NY) ripped President Trump’s speech on live TV as he stood a few feet away from her.

On Thursday, Turning Point USA posted an edited video that highlighted the “powerful American stories” of heroes and everyday people Trump introduced in the speech. In-between each story was Pelosi tearing up the speech.

Democrats objected saying that Pelosi did not rip the speech after each story was told and that it was a deliberate attempt to mislead.

Republicans argued the speech was not misleading. It was designed to tell American’s that Pelosi ripped the speech that included those stories.

Trump’s Budget Includes $4.8 Trillion in Spending

On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal reported on a $4.8 trillion budget proposal that would slash social safety nets and foreign aid to reduce deficits by $4.6 trillion. It would also include $2 billion for the wall and provide a boost to NASA, defense, and veterans funding.

Democrats have not seen the details of the proposal yet. However, that did not stop them from criticizing Trump’s proposals.

Chairman of the House Budget Committee Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) said the proposals are “destructive and irrational.”

Some budget analysts predict that lawmakers will not make any decisions until after the November election. To fund the government, they will use temporary spending measures in the first few months of the year.

The government’s fiscal year begins on October 1st.
