Surprising Primary Eve Poll Results in New Hampshire
(UnitedVoice.com) – New Hampshire’s primary takes place tomorrow, and a public opinion poll released Sunday night has some surprising results.
Pete Buttigieg, who was making gains after the Iowa caucuses, is having a hard time keeping up with Bernie Sanders (D-VT). In the poll, done by Suffolk University and The Boston Globe, 27% of the people responding said they plan on voting for Sanders, and only 19% support Buttigieg.
Considering how close their numbers were in Iowa, many people expected this to be another close race between Sanders and Buttigieg. It looks like they might have some competition though.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who was not seen as serious competition until the last Democratic debate, has risen nine points since last week’s poll, which now puts her in third place with 14% support.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and former Vice President Joe Biden are currently tied at 12%.
The poll interviewed 500 people over the weekend via phone calls to get the results for this poll. It will be interesting to see if the results of the primary match the predictions.
