(AmericanProsperity.com) – Democrats had pipe dreams of winning Alaska this year, but President Donald Trump is projected to take the state’s three electoral votes by a decent margin. This win gives the Trump campaign a boost as they continue to fight legal battles in multiple other states.
Decision Desk HQ, a site providing nonpartisan election results, called the race Wednesday morning, shown here:

With 75% of the districts reporting, President Trump secured 56.9% of the vote. In contrast, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden only received 39.1% of the vote.
In addition, incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) won his race, giving the Senate 50 GOP senators so far. Reporter Peter Bakers breaks down just what that means heading into the next term:
Alaska's Sullivan secures re-election, giving Republicans their 50th seat in the Senate and guaranteeing them a majority if they win either of the upcoming runoff elections in Georgia. @hillhulse https://t.co/3cLOM8W4vD

This small win for President Trump brings his projected electoral count to 217 according to most news sources. However, those numbers are subject to change until all legal disputes are resolved and electors cast their votes on December 14.
