(AmericanProsperity.com) – The United States has long supported Israel as it’s one of our few reliable allies in the Middle East. The State Department’s latest move to support Israel involves banning fiscal support of any organization that’s involved with the global boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement against the country.
On Thursday, November 19, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the BDS campaign against Israel will be classified as anti-Semitic, and any organization participating in the movement will be ineligible for US government funding. Pompeo shared how this new order will be walked out:
The U.S. is committed to countering the Global BDS Campaign as a manifestation of anti-Semitism. I am directing U.S. Special Envoy @USEAntiSemitism to identify organizations engaged in politically motivated actions intended to penalize or limit commercial relations with Israel.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called this announcement “simply wonderful.”
While human rights groups like Amnesty International spoke out against this latest move, this new designation was praised by many, including NGO Monitor, a group committed to keeping NGOs accountable. One thing we do know for certain, though, is that this strengthens our friendship with the State of Israel.
