(AmericanProsperity.com) – Since having their guns seized in June, Patricia and Mark McCloskey have been caught up in a battle for Second Amendment rights. This case is a significant event as it regards what lengths Americans can legally go to in order to defend their property.
Kim Gardner, the circuit attorney on the case, will charge both husband and wife with “unlawful use of a weapon” after the incident on June 28. The couple is adamant they were defending themselves from Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors who came near their home within their gated community.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson responded to the new development:
Kim Gardner’s action toward the McCloskeys is outrageous.
Even worse, the Circuit Attorney’s office has admitted there is a backlog of cases and dozens of homicides that haven’t been prosecuted, yet she has accelerated this case forward.

He also said he would consider pardoning the couple if they’re charged. Albert Watkins, the couple’s attorney, called this “disheartening” as no crime had been committed.
As a prosecutor attempts to charge a couple who defended their personal property through exercising their Second Amendment rights, it’s vital that we stand for our freedom and support those who do. When one American’s rights are encumbered, it affects all of us because it could be your rights trampled on next.
