Michael Flynn’s Sentencing Postponed

Michael Flynn's Sentencing Postponed

(AmericanProsperity.com) – In a case that has dragged on for two years, former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s sentencing was postponed indefinitely by federal judge Emmet Sullivan.

Flynn was charged in 2018 for lying to the FBI in the Russian investigation.

Several weeks ago, Flynn withdrew a guilty plea “because of the government’s bad faith, vindictiveness and breach of the plea agreement.” The withdrawal came days after the Department of Justice changed course and recommended that Flynn receive up to six months in jail. They alleged that Flynn was not accepting responsibility for his actions or fully cooperating since Flynn fired his previous attorney’s last month and hired new ones.

In a filing with the court, prosecutors said Flynn’s former attorneys should testify since Flynn argued he had received bad counsel from them. Flynn’s new attorney responded in a court filing that the government was retaliating against Flynn for exercising his right to hire counsel who would not “lie for the prosecution.”
