(AmericanProsperity.com) – On Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed reservation about another economic stimulus package. Earlier in the week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she and House Democrats have begun working on a phase four stimulus bill. This one would focus on infrastructure issues to help the economy once it’s in recovery.
Last week, President Trump signed the third economic stimulus bill, giving $2 trillion to help workers, businesses, and health care providers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cruz said the previous packages ought to be given a chance to work before any other measures are taken up. Additionally, he said that the entire month of April should focus on defeating the virus. The phase three package will be rolled out over the next three weeks.
Do you think there will be a 4th stimulus bill and if so, what might be considered in it?

In a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Cruz said fighting the virus was similar to a wartime approach. By looking at the pandemic as a war, resources should be made fully available to provide the equipment and resources necessary to find a vaccine. At the same time, he said relief must be made available to those who need it.
Echoing Cruz, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) said they are not ready to consider a fourth stimulus package either. Both said they didn’t think it was necessary at this time. President Trump tweeted on Tuesday that, because interest rates are at zero, there should be a phase four infrastructure stimulus bill.
