(AmericanProsperity.com) – On Tuesday, reports surfaced that said Attorney General William Barr told some close to President Trump that he was thinking of resigning over Trump’s tweets.
Last week in an interview with ABC, Barr said that Trump’s tweets about DOJ cases were making it “impossible” to do his job.
Somehow, this sentiment turned into a full-fledged rumor that spread across social media. Whether this was simply the result of the regular turnings of the rumor mill or a deliberate effort to spread misinformation is unknown.
However, on Tuesday night, the Justice Department refuted those claims. DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec tweeted:
Addressing Beltway rumors: The Attorney General has no plans to resign.

Tuesday afternoon Trump acknowledged to reporters that he does make the attorney general’s job difficult and expressed confidence in Barr saying, “he’s working very hard.”
