Kamala Harris Introduces A Most Absurd Resolution To Make These Completely Accurate Terms Racist
(Tea Party 247) – Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re aware of the left’s absurd efforts to make the terms “Wuhan virus,” “Chinese virus,” and “Kung-flu” racist and anyone who dares use them a racist. The first two simply indicate where the virus originated, a common practice for as long as infectious disease has existed, and the third is just funny. What they most certainly are not, is racist.
Last week, professional panderer California Senator Kamala Harris (D) introduced a resolution calling on the Senate to partake in leftist lunacy by condemning the term “Wuhan virus” as racist. Apparently, they’re running out of important things to do in Washington DC.
The Daily Caller has the details:
The resolution, introduced May 14, describes the terms “Chinese Virus,” “Wuhan Virus,” and “Kung-flu” as “anti-Asian terminology and rhetoric” that “have perpetuated anti-Asian stigma.” The resolution on the Senate to condemn “all forms of anti-Asian sentiment as related to COVID–19,” including “all manifestations or expressions of racism, xenophobia, discrimination, anti-Asian sentiment, scapegoating, and ethnic or religious intolerance.”
In a press release from early April, the senator announced that she was planning to introduce the resolution along with Democratic Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth and Democratic Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono.
“There have been disturbing reports of increased profiling, intimidation, or hate towards Asian-Americans and Asian immigrants during the COVID-19 crisis – this is inexcusable,” Harris said.
She cited an FBI intelligence report that was discussed in an ABC news article that said hate crimes against Asian-Americans were likely to increase and an NBC News report saying that anti-Asian sentiments have increased during COVID-19.
“Let’s be clear: COVID-19 does not target any group by race or ethnicity. We must condemn any instance of racism or discrimination, wherever it exists,” Harris added.
Unless of course you’re virtue signaling by pointing out that the coronavirus has infected blacks at higher rates than whites. Then it’s totally OK to imply COVID-19 targets groups based on race or ethnicity. Never mind the fact that the virus spreads quicker in more densely populated areas which just so happens to be where blacks tend to live in high proportion than rural or suburban areas. I digress.
“The increased use of anti-Asian rhetoric has resulted in Asian Americans being harassed, assaulted, and scapegoated for the COVID–19 pandemic,” the bill reads though no actual evidence of these allegations is provided.
Since the beginning, President Trump along with the whole of mainstream media referred to the coronavirus as the “Chinese virus” or “Wuhan virus” or other similar variations. It wasn’t until the WHO, China’s biggest global ally, decided it was racist to use these terms did lockstep leftists in America deem them as such.
According to a Washington Post article published in March, “several experts” spoke out against the president’s use of the terms, including UCLA professor Gilbert Gee, who told the Post that “they’ve basically made it okay to have anti-Asian bias.” A completely absurd assertion.
I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the “borders” from China – against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!

The same report by the post also says that University of Maryland at Baltimore County psychology professor Charissa Cheah, called Trump’s use of the terms “reckless and irresponsible.” Cheah is spending the university’s money on researching anti-Asian bias during the pandemic. What important work.
“[Trump is] essentially throwing his American citizens or residents of Chinese and Asian descent ‘under the bus’ by ignoring the consequences of the language he uses,” she declared. “He’s fueling these anti-Chinese sentiments among Americans.”
President Trump is most definitely not racist to call the virus by its place of origin which just so happens to be Wuhan, China. This is the kind of utter idiocy that is causing lifelong Democrats to flock in droves to the Republican Party.
Anyone with half a brain can plainly see these terms are not racist. Harris can have her “resolution.” Americans can see what an absurd sham it really is.
